A program that's helping the homeless of greater Bangor needs donations.
Welcome to Housing is collecting everything from mattresses to can-openers.
The items are given to people and families moving to permanent housing from shelter programs in the Bangor area.
" We ran into people that had to make a choice between buying food or toilet paper. In this day and age they shouldn't have to do that. So we get donations and we kind of re-gift them," said Michael Olsen, with Welcome to Housing.
Next Saturday is the group's Winter Whiteout Paper Drive. It's from 10am- 4pm at Shaw's in Bangor.
