Jackson Man Accused of Killing Florida Man wants some Evidence Thrown Out

3

Belfast - A Jackson man accused of murdering a Florida man in February and leaving his body in Newburgh wants statements he made to police thrown out.

Prosecutors says Daniel Porter, 24, killed Jerry Perdomo, 31, in a drug related homicide.

Porter has pleaded not guilty.

Tuesday, Porter's attorney was in court, saying, among other things, statements Porter made to Connecticut and Maine State Police before his arrest violated his rights. Porter's attorney wants nearly weeks worth of evidence collected by police to not be used in the trial.

Porter's trial is scheduled for April.
