Farmington Police Investigating Theft of Surveillance System at Titcomb Mountain

3

Farmington - Farmington police are investigating the theft of a $600 video surveillance system from a community ski area.

A Titcomb Mountain employee called police just after 2 a.m. Sunday after arriving for work and finding the back door open. The employee was unable to tell if the door was left open or if someone had broken in. The system was taken from the main office.

Manager Karleen Andrews tells the Morning Sentinel, the organization has little money to spare and will have a hard time replacing the equipment.

Titcomb Mountain is community-based ski area owned and operated by the Farmington Ski Club. The staff and volunteers run children's programming, including lessons for 300 to 400 children every year. About 300 families buy season passes.

The theft remains under investigation.
