Throughout 2013, the TV 5 family is celebrating 60 years on the airwaves.
On Monday night, the Bangor City Council wished us a happy birthday.
Councilor Ben Sprague presented WABI General Manager Mike Young with a plaque in recognition of the station's longtime dedication to the community.
"Well WABI has been a treasure to our community for a long time. It's not just reporting the news but the general community involvement. WABI has been involved with so many things over the years. It's just been a treasure for our community," said Sprague.
"The recognition tonight really just stimulates all of us to do more, to do better, to be the best that we can be in service to the community," said Young.
Coincidentally, the city of Bangor celebrates the 180th anniversary of its incorporation tomorrow.
