Karen Mills of Maine is leaving her post as head of the Small Business Administration.
She's from Brunswick and has served as SBA Chief since 2009.
The SBA arranges loans and other assistance to small businesses.
Mills is the latest executive branch official to leave the White House as the president settles into his second term.
President Obama credited mills on Monday with helping businesses recover from the recession.
