Snow Removal Efforts Continue After Storm

3

Bangor - Snow removal crews in Bangor have been working around the clock to clean up after this weekend's blizzard.

Dana Wardwell, Director of Bangor Public Works, said crews worked around 40 hours straight during the storm.

Since then, they've been removing snow from downtown at night and clearing parking lots and other areas during the day.

In addition to the streets, crews have around 75 miles of sidewalk to clear.

"By the end of the week, we should have a pretty good grip on things. The downtown should be cleaned up, the parking lots will be cleaned up and some intersections and narrow streets will probably be cleared up by then," said Wardwell.

Until then, he's asking folks to be patient with snow removal crews and be careful while driving.
