Augusta -
A Randolph man has been sentenced to nine months in jail for his role in a shooting outside an Augusta bar that left a man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Jacob Pouliot was sentenced last week to five years behind bars with all but nine months suspended after pleading guilty to reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
As part of a plea deal, a charge of elevated aggravated assault was dismissed.
The 23-year-old Pouliot's lawyer tells the Kennebec Journal, that the sentence was fair since there was some confusion over the identity of the shooter and the victim was not targeted.
Police say an altercation inside the bar nearly two years ago spilled outside. The victim, a 50-year-old man, suffered a wound to the thigh and survived.
