Bangor -
Sunday is the Chinese New Year, the biggest holiday celebration in China, but people were even celebrating in Bangor.
Oriental Jade kicked off their new years week with a party on Sunday. Governor Paul LePage was in attendance to celebrate the year of the snake.
It's custom for the highest ranking official to lead the dance of the lion, and LePage did just that.
He hopes events like this encourage Mainers to get involved with other cultures.
"Hopefully that we can invest in China, in their economy, and their can certainly invest here, particularly in education," said LePage.
Co-owner of Oriental Jade, Lilian Lo said this will be the biggest chinese new year celebration Bangor has ever seen.
