Orrington -
In the long winter months, students get used to indoor recess. Though we all know, it's just not as much fun.
But with the help of The Maine Jump in Bangor, the gym at the Center Drive School in Orrington was transformed into a play area that would knock most school playgrounds out of the park. Three bounce houses were brought inside of their school on Thursday.
"They run right to the jump house they want to go in first and they've been jumping like crazy," explained technology teacher Alexis Deveau.
The Maine Jump held a contest on Facebook to find the school most deserving of a visit.
Deveau wrote a letter on behalf of the Center Drive School explaining how much the students and staff have been through lately. Within the last year, their school librarian and two students passed away.
"We all came together as a staff and really tried to help the school get through that," said Deveau.
In January, the school found out they won. Then on Thursday, the 100th day of school, the bounce houses arrived.
The kids loved the visit and for once, they were jumping for joy to stay inside.
