The Mattawamkeag Fire Department is getting a hefty boost from the federal government.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has award the department $101,175.
The money will be used to buy new gear and air packs.
It comes from the Assistance to Firefighter Grant program.
Congressman Mike Michaud says the grants are designed to help provide critical resources for first responders.
