Vassalboro -
The second-in-command of the Maine Warden Service has died.
Major Gregory Sanborn had a form of cancer that attacks the immune system, requiring a bone marrow transplant.
He was 47.
There will be visiting hours at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro on Friday from 4pm - 6pm and 7pm to 9pm.
A celebration of life will be held at the same place at 11am Saturday.
Sanborn's family has requested donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Maine Warden Service Relief Association's Scholarship Fund.
