The Mid-Coast Hospitality House in Rockport could be back in service by the end of February.
The homeless shelter abruptly closed in November. Maine Housing officials say the couple who ran the facility were suffering from exhaustion and had planned on phasing out the shelter.
Maine Housing now owns the property and is working on a lease. The goal is to have the shelter open in a few weeks.
