Governor LePage issued his second State of the State address to legislators in Augusta on Tuesday night.
The speech was longer than expected, as the Governor sounded off on a number of issues.
"Tonight I am here to update you, the people of Maine, about the condition of our great state. Everything is fine, thank you for coming, goodnight."
But of course that was not all and according to LePage, the state's bottom ranking business friendly environment, according to Forbes Magazine, needs to change.
"Job creators don't look at all 50 states. They look at the top 10, and we're not there."
He also urged legislators to act on his proposal, to pay the state's hospitals the $186 million in unpaid Medicare debt through a bond secured by future liquor sales.
"My proposal ensures that Maine hospitals get paid. It will improve Maine's fiscal health."
He also spoke about education, throwing his support behind charter schools, also saying that public schools should be held financially accountable for graduates forced to take remedial classes at the college level.
"No matter what we say, we are not getting the job done. Not only do we need to give our children more options, we need to improve the outcomes in our schools."
The Governor closed the night by asking legislators to not raise taxes and to pay the bills that the state already owes.
