Camden is staking a claim to being the coolest small town in America.
Residents there are hoping for the top spot in Budget Travel Magazine's 8th Annual America's Coolest Small Town Contest.
More than 900 towns entered far Camden has made the top 15.
Camden does seem to fit the bill.
"The contest itself looks for not only a quaint town, but a town that has that special something. Heart, energy to it and that's definitely Camden. We have a historic downtown full of independently own businesses. Camden really is a year-round community with our four season recreation area," said the town's development director, Brian Hodges.
"It's got an amazing food scene. I think it's just really coming out and walking around the town and finding excuses to explore," said Lucy Cuneo, who's moving to Camden.
"It's great because it's got mountains and the sea. So, it's got some of the best sailing waters in the world, literally just behind the beautiful harbor," said Will Sarsfield, who is also moving to Camden.
"I fell in love with Camden when I was up here about five years ago during the winter. I love this town on the harbor like this. This is classic. If you want to have a picture perfect postcard, take a picture of Camden on the water. It's wonderful," said Paul Partyka, a resident of Florida.
"We are the only finalists from Maine to be considered for the coolest town in the U.S., so, definitely, a vote for Camden is a vote for Maine," said Hodges.
