Orono -
The Black Bears were looking to maybe start a win streak against rival New Hampshire. Bad news in the first half, as Justin Edwards would leave the game with an ankle injury.
But second half, his teammates picking him up. Shaun Lawton to Ali Fraser
and the big man with the two-handed slam. Maine fighting back from a 17-point deficit.
The Wildcats though hanging on to that lead. Ferg Myrick with the take
and gets the basket to go. UNH goes up five late in the half.
The Black Bears would finally cap the comeback though. Xavier Pollard misses on one attempt, misses on the second, misses the third, but Mike Allison is there to help him. It was 52-52 with two minues to go.
UNH would take the lead back. Maine was down three with seven seconds to go. Zarko Valjarevic puts up a last second three, but it's no good. UNH beats UMaine tonight, 57-54 the final.
