Update: Two Bodies Found in Burned Easton Home

Easton - A fire in Aroostook county has claimed the lives of two brothers.

The fire marshal's office is investigating.

It happened around 5:00 AM Tuesday morning at a home on Richardson Road in Easton.

The town's fire chief says Paul, 56, and Mark Beaton, 57 were killed. The older brother was the owner of the home.

Eight other people who were in the home got out. Several of them had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The family dog died in the fire. A cat was saved.

The home is destroyed.

The local Red Cross chapter is helping survivors.

The fire chief says the home didn't have any working smoke detectors and White said this was was the first fatal fire in Easton since 1959.
