Brownville Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Murder-For-Hire Plan

3

Dover-Foxcroft - A Brownville woman accused of trying to hire a man to kill her husband pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning.

46-year-old Wendy Farley appeared before a judge after being indicted by the Piscataquis County Grand Jury on Monday.

She's charged with criminal solicitation.

Farley was arrested in September after police say she asked a Milo man to shoot her husband in exchange for thousands of dollars.

"The evidence in this case is primarily taped recordings of her actually engaging in a discussion with somebody she was trying to hire and we have we actually on tape talking about what she wanted done and how she wanted her husband killed," explained District Attorney Chris Almy.

Police say she had been plotting his murder for years.

Farley is currently free on bail. Her case could go to trial as soon as March.
