Bangor -
A local law firm is making getting your affairs in order as easy as a few clicks on the keyboard.
Rudman Winchell in Bangor has launched the state's first website for on-line estate planning.
The site allows clients to figure out what they need, such as a will or power of attorney, with the help of a quick questionnaire.
Once the information is filled out, it's sent to a lawyer and the documents are drawn up.
Jennifer Eastman, an Estate Planning Attorney, says working through the website can do more than just save people a visit to the law office.
"Other document preparation websites are not run by lawyers and the documents are not reviewed by lawyers. And not only are these created and reviewed by attorneys, they're Maine attorneys. So you know that your documents are going to be valid under Maine law."
Eastman says she hopes the site will help people all over the state.
You can find it by logging on to www.rudmanwinchell.com and clicking on the e-state planning logo.
