Wong, wrong, wrong! No need to switch if you don't want to. They'll keep on mailing the checks after March 1 because they don't have the authority to sign you up for direct deposit or debit card. The beneficiary is the only one who can do that. Treasury's Walt Henderson has made it clear the checks will continue to be mailed to the 5 million or so who haven't switched to electronic payment. They'll pester those people with mailings to try to twist their arms into changing. But they can't make you do it! As Glinda said in the Wizard of Oz, "Be gone. Before somebody drops a house on you."
