One Killed, Another Injured in Jonesport Crash

3

Jonesport - A Jonesport man is dead after a car crash early Sunday morning.

According to Lt. Travis Willey of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, it happened around 6:00 am on Main Street in Jonesport.

We're told 56-year-old Randy Thistlewood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lt. Willey said Thistlewood was speeding, lost control, and began to skid. He said Thistlewood's car crossed the center line and hit a truck travelling in the other direction.

We're told the driver of the truck has minor injuries. He called 911 to report the accident.

Lt. Willey said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

This is such a tragedy. I dont feel that photos of such a tragedy need to be put on for the public to view unless family wants them to be.

I mean you no offense Jessica; however, I think things like this should be seen and posted. If seeing a photo in which someone has died can possibly discourage one young driver from speeding and save their life or the lives of others, then in my mind it is well worth it. I offer you and your family my sympathies, and I realize that this may be hard for you, but it may also save this life of another and prevent their family from having to go through it.
