Ellsworth -
The sale of a rare Stephen King book is now helping families stay warm.
A check for $2,850 was delivered to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter in Ellsworth on Friday, to benefit their fuel fund.
Bidding on the limited edition novel began earlier this month at Scotty’s Book House in Hancock.
An attorney in Boston placed the highest bid.
The money will now be used to help families who need assistance paying for home heating oil.
Although the bidding is over, the shelter still needs support.
To help keep families warm, mail donations to the Emmaus homeless shelter, P.O. Box 811, Ellsworth, 04605.
Or call at 667-3962.
