Bangor -
Seven community leaders were the guests of honor at a big celebration on Wednesday.
The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual awards dinner.
It is the largest gathering of its kind in Maine and offers an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of those men and women who are growing the business landscape in the area.
Nearly 800 people attended the ceremony, enjoying the food, cocktails, and networking opportunity.
For some it was a bitter sweet night.
This is the final year that the banquet will take place in the Bangor Civic Center, as next year they'll be in the new Cross Insurance Center.
"It’s a culmination of a year's work. We’re getting better and better with working in community endeavors. We recognize key performers throughout the city and the region for the work they've done," said Jane Irving, incoming chair for the chamber's board of directors.
