Update: Orrington Man Accused of Breaking into Homes in Glenburn, Hampden, Veazie

3

Glenburn, Hampden, Orrington, Veazie - Police say a man from Orrington arrested in connection with a string of home burglaries in the greater Glenburn area reportedly stole thousands of dollars worth of items during the crime spree.

State police say 23-year-old Nicholas Osgood is accused of breaking into about a dozen homes in Glenburn, Hampden and Veazie.

Osgood was arrested Monday after police stopped his car on the Pushaw Road in Glenburn.

He's in jail charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft. Bail is set at $20,000.

Police say they've been on the look out for Osgood since this weekend after a rash of daytime burglaries in the last week.

After his arrest, authorities started searching a home on Brasslett Drive where Osgood had been staying, in hopes of finding some of the stolen property.

State police say they also have two vehicles they believe were used in the crimes and they plan to search those, too.

Any one with information about the investigation can call State Police at 866-2121.
