West Paris -
A home and a car were destroyed by fire Sunday in West Paris.
Nobody was home at the time of the blaze.
The West Paris fire chief says high winds made it incredibly difficult for his firefighters to battle the blaze on Maple Street.
Gusts reached 40 miles per house, and fire fighters had to spray surrounding houses with water to keep the flames from spreading.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
