Maine lawmakers have submitted over 1,700 bills for this session.
The Maine Senate President and House Speaker says the number submitted 1,780 bills before Friday's deadline.
That number is down from 2010, when 1,899 proposed laws were submitted before the deadline.
A full list of this year's bill titles listed by subject matter is expected to be released on January 28th.
