Eddington -
The Meadowbrook after-school dance program in Eddington is hosting a chili cook-off and dance celebration on Saturday to benefit its tuition fund.
The operators say the dance program is a great way for students to learn social skills and get exercise, but many people can't afford to sign their children up for the program.
"It's very, very important," says Sue McKay, director of the program. "We found that most of the families either have difficulty coming up with $100 for the 6 week session or they just don't have it at all, so their kids wouldn't be able to come."
The cook-off and celebration is Saturday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at Eddington's Meadowbrook Dance Studio.
Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children.
