No Charges in Bangor Stabbing

3

Bangor - Bangor police say no charges will be filed in connection with a fatal stabbing on Elm Street early in the morning on December 29th.

34-year old Jeffrey Leblanc was found bleeding in the driveway of the residence.

He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he died later that day.

The Medical Examiner's Office called the death a homicide.

However, after thoroughly reviewing the case, the Attorney General's office determined the case was self-defense and defense of premises.

Police say Leblanc was inside the Elm Street residence when he became aggressive toward a person who lives there. Leblanc allegedly assaulted the man, causing multiple injuries to his face.

The resident told authorities he tried to fight Leblanc off, but it didn't work.

The man then stabbed Leblanc in the side of his abdomen.
