Update- Victim of Head-On Crash in Palermo Dies

3

Palermo - State police say one of two men critically injured in a head-on collision between a Jeep and a tractor trailer in Palermo Wednesday morning, has died.

27-year old Dean Camacho of Waterville passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland overnight.

Authorities say Camacho was a passenger in the vehicle driven by 23-year-old Christian Arsenault of China.

Arsenault lost control of the Jeep on North Palermo Road about 5:45 a.m.

The Jeep went into the path of the tractor trailer.

Police say Arsenault was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the Jeep.

Camacho was pinned inside.

Arsenault is listed in serious condition, according to a charge nurse at the hospital.

State police say it appears speed, not the weather, played a part in the crash.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

When will drivers learn to slow down?? I drive 28 miles to get to work and everyday there are drivers right on my bumper!! The rudeness I encounter for going the speed limit or adjusting my speed for road conditions is unbelievable! I have had large trucks to small cars pass me and cut sharply in front of me in an obvious f**k you move!!
