Medieval Festival Held at Maine Discovery Museum

3

Bangor - Families got a chance to take a step back in time to the Middle Ages.

The Maine Discovery Museum held their Medieval Festival on Saturday.

With the help of re-enactment group, Society for Creative Anachronisms, the Renaissance times were brought back to life.

The little lords and ladies took part in crafts, fencing, and archery.

Organizers say it wasn't your typical family fun day.

"It's really nice to be having something different going on," said Director of Education at the Maine Discovery Museum Traci Plummer. "We do a lot of stuff with physics and chemistry. This is something completely different."

One of the re-enacters called it, "camping with a theme".

Organizers plan to hold an event like this for years to come.
