A man from Indian Island is going to prison for two years for attacking a woman with a knife.
32-year-old Shane Sapiel pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated assault.
Bangor police say he forced his way into a woman's apartment in September.
He was originally accused of sexually assaulting her, too, but that charge was dropped.
The Penobscot County District Attorney's office says both Sapiel and the victim admitted to using bath salts the day before the incident and it was difficult to prove a sex crime was committed.
Sapiel was also ordered to serve two years probation.
