Augusta -
Governor Paul LePage has ordered flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise Friday to sunset on Sunday in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Michael Backus at all Maine National Guard Facilities and the Town of Farmington .
Backus died unexpectedly Monday while performing duties at Camp Keyes in Augusta.
Backus was a graduate of Mt. Blue High School and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Michael Backus was 44.
Visiting hours will be Saturday from 3pm -6pm at Wiles Funeral Home in Wilton. The funeral will be Sunday at 1pm at the University of Maine Farmington in the South Dining Hall.
