Wildlife Officials Puzzled over Wild Boar

3

Maine wildlife officials are puzzled over a wild boar shot by a hunter in Somerset county.

They don't know where the animal came from.

They do know that it did not have rabies or any viruses that can endanger domestic pigs.

The boar was killed by a hunter the day after Thanksgiving after it attacked and killed a domestic pig in Mercer.

Game wardens have contacted private hunting preserves in New England to find out where the boar came from, with no luck.
