72nd Maine Agriculture Trade Show Kicks Off In Augusta

3

Augusta - The 72nd annual agriculture trade show kicked off at the Augusta Civic Center Tuesday morning.

The event is hosted by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.

There are more than 150 exhibits featuring the latest in agricultural and forestry products, equipment and services.

More than 5000 people are expected to check out the show.

Organizers say it's a great place for folks in the agriculture industry to network with their peers. "If you want to get to know a little more about agriculture you don't know much about it there's a lot of farmers here more than willing to speak with you and you can get different ideas from them. You may have an idea you want to bounce off some people there's a lot of people here that can help you out," said John Harker of the Maine Department of Agriculture.

The show will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 8; from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 9; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 10.
