Group Working to Reopen Squaw Mountain

3

Greenville - Good news for skiers in the Greenville area.

Plans are in the works to reopen Squaw Mountain later this month.

A non-profit group called Friends of Squaw Mountain has entered into a lease agreement with the current owner, who lives in New Hampshire.

He's agreed to let them run the place, in exchange for a annual fee of $1.

The group has been hard at work sprucing up the resort, which closed down two years ago.

They're hoping to open on Monday, January 21st.

The plan is to have the triple chair lift and eight trails on the lower mountain ready for skiers.

For more information, including how to volunteer, look for the Friends of Squaw Mountain Facebook page.
