Man Once Reported Missing Turns Himself In to Police

3

Ellsworth - An Ellsworth man, reported missing since the day before Christmas and who was reportedly involved in a high speed chase in Bangor less than a week later, has been arrested.

Police say Jonathan Spinney, 28, turned himself in at the Ellsworth Police Department Thursday.

Spinney is being held at the Hancock county jail without bail until he can make a court appearance.

According to his mother, Spinney was in a high speed chase with police on outer Broadway in Bangor the Friday after Christmas. Police called off that chase because it was getting too dangerous.

Spinney ditched the car in the Capehart area, and fled on foot.

Its good for this young man to turn himself in and take responsibility. It takes much courage for that. I hope it goes well for him.
