St. Albans -
An untimely crime leaves one family in St. Albans struggling to pay for funeral costs. The Larrabee family had been raising money to help pay for expenses following the death of a grandfather -- Bertram "Larry" Larrabee. They tell us while they were at his funeral on Thursday, someone broke into their home and stole a safe containing $3,500 dollars. It has since been reported to police. Family members say the loss is heartbreaking.
"It crushed me. I've worked from morning until night on this. Then I come in and found that the donations bucket that we had here had been stolen also. There was at least a hundred, I don't know how much more, but at least a hundred and that was gone too," said his daughter in law Heidi McDougal.
If you would like to support the Larrabee family during their time of need, a relief fund has been set up.
Checks can be mailed to:

There will also be a pot luck supper to benefit the family. That will be on January 26th at the Night Riders Snowmobile Club in Detroit. The event goes from 4 -7 P.M. A $5 donation gets you in the door, $20 dollars for a family of 4 or more.
