Augusta -
A Massachusetts man has been sentenced for murdering a Readfield man in 2011.
David Silva, 34, will spend 43 years in prison.
Silva's attorney, William Maselli, tells TV 5, as part of a plea deal Silva pleaded guilty Friday to killing Robert Orr, 53, and stealing items from his house, before burning the house down.
Orr had been letting Silva and his girlfriend stay at his house at the time of the murder.
According to court documents, Silva's girlfriend, Lindsey Spence, told police Silva had planned to rob Orr after finding a safe, money, and guns in the house.
On February 9th, 2011, Spence told police she awoke to gunshots and found the headless body of Robert Orr slouched in a chair. Court papers say Silva then burned the house down and fled to Massachusetts where Silva sold the stolen goods and bought Heroin.
