3

New Hampshire - Police said heavy snowfall is the cause of a 20-car-pileup in New Hampshire.

A New Hampshire Department of Transportation spokesman says the chain-reaction crash happened near Exit 22 on interstate 93 Saturday afternoon.

A dozen vehicles were involved in the initial crash, before four more vehicles then became involved. The DOT said an another four vehicles veered off the road to avoid the pileup.

Authorities say the accident left 5 people injured.

They were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident temporarily closed the interstate, but it is now reopened.
