Help Keep Local Postal Carriers Safe This Winter

3

The postal service is hoping you'll help keep local carriers safe this winter.

This is the time of year when it can be even harder for them to live up to their motto to not let anything stop them - like snow, sleet or hail.

Maine's district manager is asking property owners to keep their walkways and steps clear of snow and ice.

If you have a curbside mailbox, make sure the area in front of it is cleaned up, too.

During the winter, carriers can often be delivering mail at or after sundown.

So keep an eye out for them, especially if they're making frequent stops in a vehicle or walking along the road.
