Bangor -
A food pantry is Bangor is getting an early start on holiday dinner.
The Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry held their second annual holiday meal Sunday.
The dinner included all of the favorite holiday fixings. The meal is completely free and afterward everyone in attendance, which was about 500 people, did a little christmas caroling afterwards, but this food pantry makes sure they help people in need all year round.
Founding Director of the Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry, James Gallagher said "We just decided that we wanted to give back in our capacity, so we do a meal every Monday afternoon from 11 to 1 and that's free to the whole community, whoever would like to come out is more than welcome to."
The food pantry also helps people in need on Tuesday afternoons by giving them some groceries.
Organizers said the event has grown over the past two years and they hope to make it even bigger in 2013.
