Bangor -
A woman from Bangor accused of stealing more than $56,000 from Healthcare Charities in Bangor will spend 9 months in jail.
47-year-old Laurena Cunningham was sentenced Thursday for theft by unauthorized taking.
She pleaded guilty last month.
Cunningham was a long-time employee of the organization.
An investigation began earlier this year when Healthcare Charities officials realized the money was gone.
The judge also ordered Cunningham to pay the money back.
The Penobscot County District Attorney's office says she returned $11,000 at her sentencing.
Cunningham will serve three years probation when she's out of jail.
