Empty Lifeboat From The Missing Foxy Lady II Found in the Saugus River

Gloucester, MA - The Coast Guard says a lifeboat belonging to a missing Gloucester-based fishing vessel has been found in a marshy area of the Saugus River.

But there's still no sign of the Foxy Lady II or its two-member crew from Maine. The 45-foot scalloper set off on Saturday for a day trip and was scheduled to return that evening.

Officials say the empty rescue pod was noticed by a Saugus resident on Tuesday.

The Coast Guard has been searching an area covering 360 square miles off the Massachusetts coast since the girlfriend of the captain, Wally Gray, Jr., reported the vessel missing on Monday.

Gray and his crewmember, 50-year-old Wayne Young, are both from Deer Isle, Maine.

The Coast Guard says it did not receive a distress signal from the boat and plans to continue the search.
