Bar Harbor -
James Gower was a priest, a peace activist and co-founder of a local college.
He died Monday in Bar Harbor.
In the late-sixties, he teamed up with businessman and former high school classmate Les Brewer to form what became the College of the Atlantic, which held its first classes in 1972.
A celebration of life will be held in June at the Holy Redeemer Church, followed by a reception at the college.
The Reverend James Gower was 90.
