Husson Pays Tribute to Newtown Victims

Bangor - A group of students at Husson University paid tribute Tuesday to those who lost their lives during Friday's mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

The students gathered on the school's Bangor campus to release balloons filled with letters and prayers for the victims.

Volunteers from the Kappa Delta Phi sorority spent the weekend collecting the notes from fellow students.

They say they hope their messages of love and support reached the victims in heaven.

"People stopped by and wrote down prayers. I know some of them said Merry Christmas to God's 26 new angels," said Caitlin Stauffer of the sorority.

The women of that sorority are also planning a fundraiser for the victim's families.
