Rite Aid Elves Make Trip to EMMC

Bangor - A troop of Rite Aid elves visited children at Eastern Maine Medical Center Tuesday.

They presented the kids with gifts to enjoy.

The volunteers came from a variety of eastern and central Maine stores.

It's part of the store's ongoing partnership with "The Children's Miracle Network", a non-profit organization raising money for hospitals caring for children.

Organizers say that putting a smile on the faces of these young ones required a team effort.
"We have half a dozen employees here today and have over 500 employees that work real hard during the year to have fund raisers that make money for Children's Miracle Network," said manager of the Old Town Rite Aid, Shonna McCannell.

Since 1994, Rite Aid has raised more than $56 million dollars for the charity.
