Holden Car Crash Limits Traffic to 1 Lane

Holden - A two car crash in Holden sent one woman to a hospital this afternoon.

It happened on route 1A in Holden in front of the Leadbetters store.

It happened just before 4:30.

Traffic was closed down for twenty minutes while police cleared the scene.

Brad Bemis, 32 of levant, struck the front end of a car driven by 41-year-old Anne Pelkey of Holden while he was exiting the parking lot.

According to police, Pelkey attempted to pass a stopped truck, and Bemis didn't see her as he pulled onto the road.

Police say she suffered back injuries and was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center where -- police tell us -- she has yet to be released.
