Update: Bangor Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Arrested in Less Than Half Hour

Bangor - Bangor police quickly arrested a man accused of robbing a pharmacy Tuesday afternoon.

They had the suspect in handcuffs about a half hour after the crime.

Police say Kevin Gray walked into the Walgreens on Broadway, near Husson Avenue about 2:30 p.m.

They say he asked to borrow a pen from a clerk, then used it to write a note demanding drugs.

Police say Gray handed the note to a pharmacist who turned over the pills.

A police dog was called into to track the suspect's scent.

Gray was arrested on Falvey Street in the Bangor Gardens neighborhood just before 3 p.m.

Sgt. Paul Kenison says, "People are irritated with this. They're upset people are doing this and people are quick to cooperate and give us descriptions and give us information. We really couldn't do it without the cooperation of the community."

Police say the note may have implied the suspect had a weapon but one was never shown.

We're told this is the sixth pharmacy robbery in Bangor this year.
