Concerns about Childhood Lead Poisoning


David Orcutt, Project Coordinator, Lead Hazards for Penquis talks about the availability of lead inspections, lead testing, and lead abatement services.

Penquis now has funding available to assist families who are concerned about childhood lead poisoning.

(1) Lead testing and abatement for homeowners who have a child under age 6 in the home (there are income eligibility requirements for this program).

(2) Lead inspections and abatement for landlords who have unit(s) that house children under 6 years (there are income eligibility requirements for this program - based on the tenant's income).

(3) Private lead inspections (fee for service).
