Local musicians rocked out and donated blood all at the same time on Saturday.
The American Red Cross and Michael Olsen hosted "Bands for Blood" in Bangor.
Musicians performed in an effort to get more people to donate blood. Band members and donors signed a poster that will be framed and hung at the Red Cross.
Olsen, who transfers blood from Bangor to Portland and has noticed a shortage, said this is great way to get the community involved. "People can't get out, they can't donate. So I like to organize these and get the people out, get them interested, get them enthused, and get the blood flowing so to say."
