Dover-Foxcroft -
A teenager who admitted to robbing another minor at gunpoint was sentenced Monday afternoon in Dover-Foxcroft.
Earlier this month, 15-year-old Joshua Hanson of Sangerville accepted responsibility for that crime and seven other charges, in what Judge Kevin Stitham called a "crime spree" in September in the Guilford and Sangerville area.
District Attorney Chris Almy said Hanson's sentence is a concurrent one for his charges of robbery, criminal threatening with a weapon, burglary, theft of a firearm, burglary to a motor vehicle, two other counts of theft, and a drug possession charge.
Hanson was sentenced to the Mountain View Juvenile Development Center in Charleston until he's 18.
"This agreed upon disposition is going to give you a chance to continue to work with the services up at Mountain View and continue with your education. You need to learn responsbility, to take responsibility and to act in a responsible way, in a world with other people," said Judge Stitham, addressing Hanson in court.
Almy said because Hanson is a juvenile this is an indeterminate sentence. There is the possibility Hanson could be released early depending on his behavior and how he responds to the facility's services.
